Barry Stafford – Partner

Barry attended Christchurch Boys High School and Canterbury and Auckland Universities. At the start of his career he worked for the Public Trust Office in Christchurch, Auckland and Wanganui and then spent two years in London. On his return in 1972 he joined Simpson Coates & Clapshaw (later Simpson Grierson) and was a Partner until he retired at the end of 1993 to found Stafford Klaassen in Auckland.

Andrew Klaassen – Partner

Born in Auckland and educated at Sacred Heart College Andrew attended Otago University and then Auckland University. His legal career started at Simpson Coates & Clapshaw (now Simpson Grierson) in 1983 where he became a banking and finance partner in 1990. He and Barry Stafford retired from Simpson Grierson partnership and founded Stafford Klaassen in 1994. Andrew has experience in commercial, company and property law as well as trusts, estates and franchising.

Geoff Stafford – Partner

Born in Auckland, Geoff attended Kings College and completed his law and commerce degrees at Otago University.

Geoff joined the firm in 2008 after 3 years living and working in London. Prior to this Geoff worked for Fonterra and a private equity firm.

Geoff has broad experience in commercial and property law, with a particular focus on unit title developments.

Bee Millbank – Legal Executive

Bee is a registered legal executive who works mainly on property transactions and estate administration. She has been with the firm since its formation in 1994.

Georgia Casey – Solicitor

Georgia comes from a farming background in Cambridge. She attended Waikato University and completed her law degree and professional studies in 2011. She initially worked in Cambridge before shifting to Auckland in 2013 to join the firm. Georgia works closely with Andrew in property, commercial, trusts and estate planning.

Kahlia Neal

Kahlia joined the firm in January 2017. She is a legal secretary and is currently working towards the New Zealand Law Society Legal Executive diploma.

Kahlia works closely with our lawyers on property, trust and estate matters.

Having recently moved to Auckland from Wellington she is enjoying exploring the city’s food and dining scene and the warmer climate.
